Abend Gallery had a packed house - a big accomplishment as it's a huge space - Thursday night for the American Impressionists Society. No awards for moi, but had wonderful feedback from other highly talented artists that lift my spirits. It has been fun exploring Denver and meeting other artists.
I've sort of equated Denver to Mecca - a pilgrimage for me to the land of so many of my favorite artists. It's very inspiring.
We toured the art museum (just missing Matisse whose show opens next weekend). But saw Daniel Sprick's amazing show.
I painted with E. Melinda Morrison and a group at a figure session in the most funky cafe I've seen. Shopped for a sketchbook (and other things I can't live without) at a fabulously well-stocked art store - Meininger's. Today is gallery hopping and then home to Austin where I hope to start the Art Students League of Austin. If we build it, they will come.
