Drawing classes start tonight. We have room for a just a couple more students if you are interested. Each night we will focus on a different drawing skill, so if you cannot make it to all four, that is ok. And participants can show their work during our second annual "Chiaroscuro and Chocolates" open studio event (Nov. 21).
Tonight we will work on "proportion" and I will teach measuring techniques for working large to small and seeing accurate shapes while working from still life objects.
See the FB event for more info.
We are teaching again! A month long drawing study course. Join V....Vaughan and I at Joel's Coffee House on Monday nights for 2 hours of intensive drawing study. We will work in depth with perspective, values and line. Drawing skills are foundational to all art forms. If you can accurately depict what you see, adding color, sculpting form, and creating depth and dimension are easy.
I have to admit to being pretty well "in the dumps" lately. Actually just the last couple of days. I guess it's the endless summer heat, the long days trapped in the house, my husband working every day of the last long weekend we have for awhile, and my mind rather racing on a lot of things out of my control.
I found my wheels spinning today so badly that I looked at the job ads to see if there were any entry level marketing jobs out there. Luckily, V came to my rescue and met me for coffee. I downloaded all my artsy angst and she talked me back from the edge.
While we commiserated we sketched, as artists are want to do. And that action alone was very settling. I started tight and neat and then broke loose and had a little fun just playing with color and line.
Thank you Peko, for allowing us to sketch you. That is the price you pay for sharing our table. :)
