Laid back might be the title for a whole series of paintings I'm working on and now going to start to share here. I've had some feedback on several paintings in this style and been told they are too traditional for the markets I am in. That kinda smarts... but I am not giving up. And I like the work and believe in it enough to share it regardless of feedback. LOL
I rather like the juxtaposition of the modern girls slouched into traditional furniture. Of course I do, I painted it! But, collectors want brighter, bigger and less representational work I'm hearing. I have more ideas and plan to continue the series - I gotta paint what the muse tells me. I plan to continue to try to modernize a bit as well as seek an area where more traditional figurative works are collected. I like the feedback I've gotten however and its sparked another fire to continue on and keep trying. More to come!

Hi Robin- I like this series. This is the kind of subject matter I am most attracted to so your paintings always fascinate me. Do you have models, are these from pictures- how do you find your subjects? Thanks
