Here we are at the close of another year. As we wind down, its natural to look back and to plan ahead. Overall I'd say that 2014 was a draw... started bad, evened out, had some nice highlights and has ended sort of "meh".
2014 has been hard for me as I questioned myself a lot. My sales continue to be low. I tried supplementing my income with teaching and commissions but find them exhausting. I don't have enough confidence in myself or my work, I suppose to be an effective teacher. Doing other things drains my creative energy so I pretty much stopped painting this fall.
In this new year, the key word for me is going to be confidence. I know what I want to say and how to say it. The above is an example. I plan to be more expressive and less literal. I just have to be confident enough to put my work out there. There may be changes ahead for me. And I hope you all will continue to share my journey.
Boldly go!! :-)
The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance.
