Traditional Techniques for Contemporary Artists

Mastering painting begins with learning how to see as an artist. The artist describes the world through line, value, texture, color, and shape. Learning to accurately draw objects (line) and to distinguish tonal changes that model form (values) are the most fundamental skills needed to develop as a painter. Color and texture get all the glory, but without a strong foundation, a painting will not be successful. 

Students of all levels will learn the tools to progress and express their ideas as realistically or expressively as their muse takes them. In these ongoing classes, students can begin any time, and work at their own pace while receiving individual instruction with Robin. ​Class size is limited to 6 students.
